A rare and very collectable Victorian advertising pot, it dates to the late 1880s.
It features a decorative coat of arms and is stamped with Burgess’s Genuine, 107 Strand, Corner of the Savoy Steps, London. Anchovy Paste for Toast Biscuit &c.

Diameter 9.5cm. Height 4.6cm.
CONDITION:
It was dug up from a Victorian burial ground so does have some signs of age. There is discolouration on the lid, the wording has worn and it has some nibbles on the edge. On the pot there is a crackline and chip on the side. All of the imperfections add to it's gorgeous antique character and charm.
