A beautiful and collectable Staffordshire Pottery moustache cup. It's made of white ironstone, and has a blue foliage pattern. The moustache cup was invented in the 1860s by British potter Harvey Adams. It has a half moon-shaped ledge which is used as a moustache guard to allow men to drink without getting moustaches wet. It was popular in the Victorian era when moustaches were the height of fashion and is a great example of Victorian male elegance. It's a wonderful collectors item and would make a perfect gentleman's gift. Measurements: Height 10cm. Diameter at rim of cup 11.7cm. Condition: In a very good condition for age with no chips or cracks.
